About

History

Bello Boopie was founded in 1967 as Things Very Special, Jacksonville's oldest operating stationer.  Originally, it was a home based appointment only business specializing in wedding and social invitations and personalized stationery.  In the 1980's, under the helm of the second owner, the company transformed from a home based business to a retail store off St. Augustine Road.  This provided opportunity to the First Coast Community to shop locally for paper products and fine gifts.

In 2016, under its third ownership, Things Very Special experienced major transformations.  Things Very Special gradually shifted away from invitations and stationery and focused on locally made gifts.  This lead to the establishment of Jax Arts Market, a monthly arts market that connected the community to the crafter.

Upon seeing the community so excited about locally made goods,  Things Very Special embarked on a "community connection" program and participated in local arts and crafts market.  In 2019, upon acceptance as a Riverside Arts Market vendor, we were able to shift focus from a retail store to event based sales.  Things Very Special was rebranded as Bello Boopie to fit the theme and nature of the cards that don't suck.

We are proud vendors at Riverside Arts Market, Orange Park Farmers and Arts Market, Town of Orange Park Annual Fall Festival and Coconut Barrel, Northeast Florida's Largest Artisan Market.  In 2021, we proudly accepted Riverside Arts Market Maker of the Year for our contributions to the local community and mentorship of local vendors.
